Tuesday 24th March 2015, 10am-4pm

Pot Pourri Patchwork Workshop

A rare opportunity to spend the day with world famous textile and colour guru's Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Mably. Kaffe will be taking you through the same process he uses for designing his own quilts, choosing colours that work together and getting you to move out of your colour comfort zone. You will be arranging your fabric pieces on a design flannel that you'll just fold up at the end of each workshop, ready to take home and sew. You may keep your projects wall-sized or expand them to full size later. You will not be doing any sewing during the class. This is a class learning about colour.

An evening slideshow and lecture with Kaffe Fassett followed by a Q & A Session and Book Signing. A rare opportunity to spend the evening with world famous textile and colour guru's Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Mably. The Kaffe Fassett lecture is designed to inspire and motivate. The presentation highlights works from his latest projects, these include his patchwork quilts, fabrics, needlepoints, mosaic, painting and knitting designs.

Kaffe Fassett Inspiration in Colour lecture

Kaffe's presentation will feature his latest projects, including his patchwork quilts, fabric, needlepoint, mosaic, painting and knitting designs. A tremendous amount of Kaffe's inspiration comes from his continual travels and his lecture is designed not so much to instruct but to empower and inspire the audience to create and develop their "mind's eye". The ticket price includes a glass of Prosecco, and there will also be copies of Kaffe's books available to buy.

Kaffe Fassett Past and Present colour in design Lecture

During the show Kaffe will be giving 2 lectures based on his latest exhibition at the Quilt Museum and Gallery in York, the Kaffe Fassett lecture is designed to inspire and motivate. The presentation highlights works from 'Ancestral Gifts' which runs from 15 May - 5 September 2015 and will include 15 heritage quilts personally selected from The Quilters Guild Collection by Kaffe Fassett, alongside 15 new quilts designed by Kaffe and created in response to these significant pieces. The lecture will include a look at Kaffe's patchwork quilt, fabric, needlepoint, mosaic, painting and knitting designs examing his sense and use of colour with the aim of empowering and inspiring the audience to create and develop their own work.
